Punkbuster - help

Okay so I just bought JO - I know it has been out for ages but I saw a bargin. I did the PB install but will I get access to a game for more than a minute !!!! How do I get the updated PB File. I try using the pb_securtity 0 code I see on the web but to no avail. Anyone?

How to Update Punkbuster

Start your game and go into an OFFICIAL Novaworld Stat server
that has Punkbuster enabled.
For example Monsoon 1, Mosquito Bait 1, Paradise Green 1,
Thunder 1 or Spec Ops EU 2 are just a few of them.

As soon as you are In The Game Use the key combination
of Ctrl and the ~ (tilde key) to access the command console.

A command box will appear. You can release
the ctrl key after the command box appears.
(which should be immediately after
both keys are pressed down together)

Type pb_security 0 in the command box and press enter.
Wait for about 15 seconds then Press ESCAPE to close
the dialog box.


After perfoming the above Punkbuster will be up to date.

there is a 2nd option
find some one you know that play in JOTR PB servers, see if they can copy their PB folder in the game folder and e-mail it to you in a zip file, then when you get it move the zip file to jotr game folder then go into PB folder unzip it into that folder. you should be seat if you can't get the option in the quote to work above.

novalogic, inc no longer paying evenbalance for their service jotr got to old for this service or novalogic got tire of them drop their service totally, but novaworld do their own update through their stats servers direct to the players PB folder

tip firewall
disable anti-port scan
disable stealthmod

other wise you will not be able to join NW servers

Installed Joint ops..... updated to latest version..... installed PUNKBUSTER....

When I join a game I get to play for about a minute and then get kicked with PUNKBUSTER..Been to www. evenbalance and downloaded small program that is supposed to update PUNKBUSTER but that doesn't have the option to update PUNKBUSTER for Joint Ops (?!)

Have tried the console trick (ctrl+~) but I have new keyboard lay-out which means I have to press 'shift' to get ~ (?!) ...so that's not possible on my keyboard. (!?)

When I try to get on a game with no PUNKBUSTER, it asks for CD key and after I put that in it says:- "already in use" (!!!)

Please can somebody give me a working idea that will allow me to update this stupid PUNKBUSTER before I burn this disk on the fire. (!!!!!)

I usually go on "Black Hawk" and that works fine without this ******* PUNKBUSTER. Why can't it be like that?

Is there any chance anybody out there that is 'happy away' playing on this (what looks like a good game, if only I was on long enough) could send my their 'zipped-up' PUNKBUSTER folder??????
OR ANY way that I can play online ????

A: use only lower case fonts
sample
Keycode look like this: DS98-SDJD-DJSN-4JD8-83UR
type it in as this way only: ds98sdjddjsn4jd883ur

no space or --- in it and only use lower case when typing in keycode. all so at novaworld when you type it in as will.

you would not get no error keycode already in use

as for punkbuster sorry have not play JOTR in many years now don't have the folder you need

tell the truth i no longer have any of Novalogic, inc games install at this time.
