ive noticed tat a few people have music in their sites. eg. con

i woz wonderin if you can just use it or if you have to be allowed to use it as most of this stuff is copyright isnt it?

you are allowed to use it, but not allowed to put it up for download or sell it on your website. If its stuff like non-famous bands, best to ask permisin to use it first

im not a lawyer but i suspect that when you buyt the cd you agree to use it for personal use or somethinmg similar, by playing it on a website youve violated that. It also dosent fall under the 'traditional' fair use provisions of parody, news, education and research.

Put it this way, if i created a piece if music and found it playing in the background of a webpage, i am 99% sure that i would have some sort of legal recourse availiable to me....

yeah, most web host dont allow it so its pretty hard to come across.
