Nuke ?'s

i have installed phpnuke and t is working properly.. i have learned how to skin myself (its not as hard as everyone says)
but i did want to know how to add modules to the modules nav box (ie. i want to use panthers map database or if i wanted to use my current forum how do i put a link in the list to those?)

also what forum do y'all like better?

IPB or PHPBB

i prefer IPB but you wont get anywhere in the community unless you give people what they want.... SO which one do y'all like?

I wasn't able to find a navigation box for PHP nuke that you add links with out manually editing the module it's self.

Now, if you were to use PHP-nuke Platinum (TechGFX.com )

there is a module that you can install to replace the default navigation module that will allow you to add links and catagories through the admin section.

There is even a section where you can add links where only registered users of the site can go to.

Plus, php-nuke Platinum comes with at least 100 mods installed, such as file attachements in the forums, admin voting (you can see who voted and what they voted for in forum polls), and a ton more.

phpnuke = crap.

I like Invision better than PHPBB but it is harder to mod.

But you have to pay for invision.

If I had more money coming in or squad members donating to help out with squad related bills... then maybe.

I started out using php-nuke because I had started my squad and I wanted to get up a website quickly.

I would love to design and code my own site, but it takes time and I have a hard time with the layout of sites.

Besides, why does phpnuke = crap?

It is great for all those people out there who want a site but don't know html and php.

was just playing around with a demo of e107...

The forums doesn't seem to have as many options as phpBB permission wise.

In phpBB I can give each user permission to Read, Post, Reply, Vote, Post poll, edit their post, delete their post, upload files, and download files. And I can mix and match those permissions.

For example on my forum I have a forum for counsel reports. Members can Read and reply and vote, thats it. They can't delete their messages, post a new thread, etc.

I have just explored several different Content Managment systems... none of which provides the flexibility as php-nuke.

So, until I can design my own website, I guess I will stick with Php-nuke Platinum (not going back to the phpnuke that you get from phpnuke.org)

Every CMS is going to have pro's and cons and right now for me, the pros far out way the cons with phpnuke Platinum.

IcI

Ps... You still didn't say why phpnuke=crap
