Need help choosing a new OS!

Some guys here might be using Windows 10. I have a Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with Sevice Pack 1. Will upgrading my OS to Win 10 Pro 64 bit increase my perfomance a bit or not?

It depends on the hardware level and specifications of the target machine.

My computer is good enough even though its a laptop. 12 GB RAM, Intel Core i3 4th gen 3.6 GHz, AMD Radeon 8970M. But i bought this laptop somewhere around 2012, but Win 10 is of 2015. I am just curious the OS might not correctly support in the dated machine. Few months ago, i used Win 8.1 and it gave my laptop loads of freezes. The machine became more slower. It somehow got fixed when i again reverted back to 7.

That all looks OK to me Ace but...

In some cases specs for running it can vary up and down from specified and a system that lags after installing an OS can be for many other reasons than the OS itself.

Better to install the updater from Microsoft which will check for you and it's free for another month.

Intel Core i3-4160 Processor / 3M Cache @ 3.60 GHz
12 GB RAM
Radeon 8970M 850 MHz - 900 MHz
Memory to 4GB GDDR5
Memory Clock 1200 MHz / 4.8 Gbps
Memory Bandwidth 153.6 GB/s
Peak Single Precision 2304 GFLOPS
Peak Double Precision 144 GFLOPS

The laptop was unable to run Windows 8.1 properly with all this kit?

It was probably just drivers.

Brand ... Build ????

See if you can post all the info you can think of first Ace.
Then things don't drag out.
No one likes fishing about for info.

You said your machine was an i3 3.6GHz

There was only one i3 3.6GHz according to the literature that I can find

Urr...

Just naming the brand is hardly enough now is it?

Intel Core i3 FYI

i3 CPU's are not quad core.
