Last time I checked, their is two separate spawn types. besides red and blue, there's also red/blue start, and red/blue spawn. Players will only start at "start" once, when the match begins. Players that respawn, or players that join after the match begins spawn at "spawn".

It's set up like that so you can have players start the match riding a helicopter or a boat, but once they get killed they spawn on solid ground instead of spawning where their vehicle used to be.
