I did happen actually, to a Comcast subscriber that downloaded over 300gb (Comcast’s supposed unwritten limit) a few months strait. We do have limits here in the US but it's pretty impossible for normal, even heavy users to reach them month after month.

TBH I think it is fair to limit it somewhat, 300gb in one month is 10gb a day. That's a lot of p2p/torrents. I do see a problem with it though now that download movies (legally) is becoming more popular, especially if they are HD. But still, that’s almost 50 full length DVD movies a month. I think 300gb for a residential account is reasonable. If you transfer more you should be on a business class connection.

But we’re talking about the UK... Don’t even know what the limits are there so I can't really comment..
