If you come back here's my view supporting some form of overheat as a possible cause.
I think that the AV may have overloaded the CPU or possibly the RAM as well which can cause heat to build up over time.
This can be quite a regular event once the initial heat has built up.
If it was a timed event I can't think why it would be that period of time - 23 minutes?
