i actually did this a few days ago. no sound through the hdmi cable, only out the speakers. i didnt try unhooking the speakers, u could try that, but idk. i kinda doubt it would work, but u never know. i switched back to my monitor tho cuz the text on my tv was too small to read from six feet away and i dont have my room set up so i can move closer.
