To be a member of a band you should be asked 2 questions.

1. Can you play an instrument ?
2. Can you sing ?

If you are unable to say "yes" to at least 1 of the questions you should be told to f### off.

Just bashing the guitar strings in time of the drums isn't really playing.

Screeching, grunting & growling like you are having your vocal chords pulled through your anus is not singing.

Every Saturday night I can hear people vomiting in the street who sound more interesting than most thrash metal singers.

I'm not saying that every singer must sing like a lark or be able to shatter glass with a single note but you got to draw the line when a singer sounds like he is coughing up a lung.

I listen to a wide range of music, rock, electronic, symphonic metal, pop and you will be amazed how many songs are ruined by some idiot who sounds like they are having there testicles squashed in a vice.

Just being able to wright a coherent sentence does not make you a song writer.

Being able to make a noise without s####### your self does not make you a singer.

Producing a sound from an instrument without electrocution or amputation does not make you a musician.

Lets try to encourage interesting music and weed out the crap.
