I disagree with you on that one. Desert Combat for Battlefield 1942 is one hell of an edit to a game file. But it's not a cheat, because everyone playing has the mod. If everyone has the mod, everyone has the same advantages.

Also, in DF2 the "uniform" the characters wore depended on the map layout. There were no black dots in DF2. And for the snow maps in DF2, the uniforms switched to white anyway.
