man you have no idea how much i hate wifi stuff, i'm currently trialing wifi to my HTPC, i can just about stream 1080p stuff from upstairs to downstairs using a D-Link DIR-855

yeah that's 600Mbps wifi
and yeah i still hate wireless. actual throughput i'm getting is about 3MB/s. so general streaming is no problem, the HD sometimes it stutters a bit, but for transferring files is crap.
fyi i find netgear, linksys and d-link stuff better than others.
