depends what you do on the pc i guess, i recently had 4 (1gb) sticks of ram fail (
) and was using 2x1gb as a temp solution. i played a bunch of games etc and never really had any problems.
i've just gone back to 4gb and all i'm doing is browsing and windows is currently using 1.5gb. windows does a decent job, if there is spare memory it will use it, if it's short then it will hammer the crap out of the pagefile.. which i have on a seperate drive so i hardly notice it being used.
if i had 32gb then i'd have no page file - so everything is loaded into the ram, it's a perfect solution. would be tempted to play around with software ram drives also. other than that it's great for media work and virtual machines.
