NovaHQ annouces TheGamingHQ

We are currently in what could be considered the 3rd generation of this site. At first this site was two seperate sites run by Scott and Steve with Panthers Den and UKDF respectively. Realising they shared a common goal, they merged their sites into DFHQ.net. DFHQ.net served us well, however other titles by Novalogic and the desire for a more feature rich system meant that DFHQ was becoming outdated, hence we established NovaHQ, which is where we are at now.

But not for long, it gives me great pleasure in announcing, on behalf of the administrative team of NovaHQ, that we are working on a massive undertaking that will fundamentally change the HQ as we know it.

The project is TheGamingHQ network. Yes, as you may have guessed from the talk in the forums, were branching out, and in a big way. TGHQ will open with 4 sites!

TGHQ.net - The network homepage
Tf2HQ.net - Your source for everything Team Fortress 2!
DutyHQ.net - Your No1. source for everything Call of Duty!
NovaHQ.net - Your No1. source for DF and JO stuff.

A quick tally means that the HQ network will be covering 14 seperate games in 3 franchises! And the network system is deisgned with expansion in mind, so eventually well expand even more!

So what can you expect from these new network sites? Well to start with the features will be pretty similar to novahq.net. While we realise that each game may require different features on its own site, to begin with the sites will largely be pretty similar to novahq.net now. But there will be some noticable new features that will be up when we go live.

MapMakers rejoice, because once TGHQ opens there will be no admin approval delays for maps! We are automating the process and carrying out necessary security checks on the server! That means instead of day or weeks, your maps will be up in a matter of minutes!

Another major overhaul will be the user integration. Although not too bad at the moment, the new sites will integrate all features with user accounts in a much more cohesive way than they are now . I better be quiet about the new site now, we dont want to give away too much...

Obviously, we want to get this right and hence there is no timetable on this project, we will only release when everything is ready and when we are comfortable doing so, however we will keep you updated.

We'll post up some screenshots of the new sites sometime in the near future.

Please comment (no registration necessary) with thoughts and suggestions, its a big and exciting step for us and anything the community have to say will be given serious consideration.
