Wow, that's quite a difference. I don't remember back in 2003/2004 that the game was this laggy :S. Especially the part where you jumped sidewards. However the first one with the gun sounds, yes that has always been like that.
Wish I had the knowledge to help you guys out. I hope there are some left to support you.
