See, it depends on the kind of antivirus you are talking about. If you want a free antivirus, then avast would be the best because it has a real time shield which i find missing in many other free antivirus. If you are want a paid one, then I can't tell you because i am myself confused. There are people who say that one antivirus is good, then there are some, who say that the same thing is bad. It depends on the user experience. Still, i have heard that NOD32 is solid and so is Bitdefender. It's up to you then again.
