We got a few crappy cars but the muscle car scene that started it all is coming back. Check out the new 2011 Mustang GT and GT500 for more info . The Viper ends it's life this year and who knows about the rest (Cadillac CTS-V, Corvette Z06, Camero, Charger, Challenger....).. I'm sure Dodge will come out with a new HEMI to compete. There are still some American Cars left in the mix and many more coming now days. They often have more power, just not the handling and interior that the Euro's rate so highly... Most American cars are built for cheap straight line performance... you Euro's rate performance on the twisties and luxury, and that's how Top Gear Euro usually rates them.

Here is a prime example:
Volkswagen GTI: Awesome in the twisteies, Nice interior, 200WHP, 3000LBS, 30K USD
Dodge Neon SRT-4: OK In the twisities, OK Interior, 230WHP, 2800LBS, 22K USD

My neon eats a GTI for breakfast, even the higher HP MK3 version, any day of the week, bone stock. The interior of the srt4 is about 1/2 the luxury but the raw power is much greater. We don't care about luxury here. I'd love to see an Audi RS8 or similar Euro car take on the American Viper SRT-10 Comp in a true highway race. The Viper, CTS-V or Z06 would eat it alive. The twisties, however, is another story. But here in American, the twisites don't matter.
