i had the same prob with my cameras, i made an adapter that i could use any set of batteries i can find.
i did the same thing to my NVG, got rid of the super expencive 3v lithium and can use two 1.5Vdc AA batteries, actually last longer too and a lot cheaper, if i need power i just raid the tv remote.
