guess i should reply seeing as i wrote the dam thing

the only thing i can think of at the moment, is
1, triple check the spelling of the file.
2, rename an existing heighmap that you know works (a stock one for example), obviously it wont look right, but it should enable you to narrow down the problem. as you say it could well be a save option.
