You come up with a whole new operating system, good chance none of your current software will work. And I think a lot of people won't be happy to find out they have to go buy new software... plus since it will be new, a lot of the main-stream applications may not exist for it.
Take a look at linux.. there are some pretty easy distrobutions out there... but they don't run windows software (or a limited range using emulators).
If it weren't for the windows software I have paid a lot of money for, i would switch to linux full time.
From my experience, Xp has been the best windows OS out yet. I can run for weeks on end, playing games, programing, working with graphics and not have to reboot. never could do that with any thing prior.
