Well, Nova's games are a
little bit behind... I've never seen any Direct X 9 stuff (Like bump-mapping, explosion shockwaves) except for heat blur in thier new games like DF:X or JO. And that stuff has been around since late '03 or early '04!
Oh, and to Mauser98K's post, - DF:X does have physics? The only thing it must have physics too are the explosion shratnel.
Lol, it's kind of ironic - physics for particles like that are the last thing people are going to notice
