Post HDD woes

hiho

just rebuilt my system and now running WinXP.

old sys was

A - floppy
C - HDD 1 - 20GB - windows only really
D - HDD 2 - 60GB - for progs - BUT > was 32 GB partition cause of FAT32 / Win98
E - DVD
F - CDR

but i want full 60GB or at least ( preferably 2x30 GB ).

so i copied most stuff from D to C so i could reformat D and set up relevent partiton(s).

so i go to install Win XP

Recurring error. which was with an issue to do with D drive or GFX card or GoBack ( i know thats a bit genrallised but i disconnected D, took off the GFX drivers and uninstalled GoBAck in one go ).

Win XP installation went ok after that.

setup after install

a - floppy
c - HDD1 - @ 20 GB
d - dvd
e - cdr

which is pretty much what i would expect

installed Partition Magic 7 ( says XP compatible )

attached my old D drive ( 60 GB w/ 32 GB patrtition )

comp boots fine

here is problem - i click my computer - 2nd HDD is not there

a - floppy
c - HDD1 - @ 20 GB
d - dvd
e - cdr

i can go to control panel > hardware profile etc and it says its working fine, just i cannot view it for some reason.

i can run partition magic drive info and it sees it, but if i run partition magic - actual program to format or create partitions, it crashes my computer.

so any help is appreciated

should i maybe try to format it from startup?

is the fact that it was originally 'd' anything to do with it?

Help me please
