Chief youre missing the fundamental point, if it happens you wont be immune from it by not eating chicken, infact chicken if cooked properly will kill off anything potentially dangerous..
What they are worried about is a situation where someone gets for one reason or another a "normal" strain of the flu and the birdflu at the same time, the two viruses combine and mutate and change the birdflu from something where you almost had to contract it from birds exclusively to a normal flu that can be transmitted from person to person via droplets...
I still think that its largely a campaign of fear by the politicans to take the edge of things like the War on Terror, the economy and such. Sure it may very well be a threat, but im sure their blowing it up a bit. Remeber Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome?
