That's what I was about to say
The ladies are all about the thought of it. Just look at what they do for each other- they send "thinking of you" cards, and send each other little gifts for no reason. Find her some mushy card at a real card store and spend a ton of time looking for something.
Thing is, us guys just like it for the stuff. We don't care about the thought behind it or whatever, we just want the goods. Girls on the other hand look more at thoughts and feelings, and will love you even if it is a crappy gift, just because you did it. Sorta like if you suck at singing and you sing a song for your girl. I can't count how many guys I know who got lucky just because they [badly] sang a mushy song to their girl...it's all about the thought.
