Update for WMDRM-enabled Media Players (KB902344)
Download size: 614 KB , less than 1 minute
Install this update on your PC if you use a portable device that accesses subscription media content protected by Windows Media Digital Rights Management. After you install this update, you may have to restart your computer.
Details:
SYMPTOMS
Some portable devices may take 30 seconds or longer to start playing back a piece of content when the portable device must enumerate the license store. Typically, this problem occurs when you play subscription content that is protected by Microsoft Windows Media Digital Rights Management (DRM) that uses chained licenses.

CAUSE
This problem occurs because the computer incorrectly sends duplicate root licenses to the portable device. This causes the playback startup performance to decrease because the portable device is forced to enumerate duplicate root licenses.
If the root license already exists on the portable device, the computer should only send the updated leaf license.
