I would say donate to the Red Cross.. You really do see them everywhere there is a disaster.. They helped out GREATLY in Grand Forks, ND when there was a flood.. Had food stands and trucks driving around giving out full meals 3 times daily, shelter, free items like toothpaste, brushes, shampoo blankets, firewood etc etc. Stuff people need to survive.
