Whilst it is, no doubt, a strangley disgusting thing to have to think about, lice are harmless, in fact more likley to pick someone who is very clean rather than dirty and more than capable of living within hair undetected.
It has clearly shaken you, this news, but your response shows a great deal of ignorance on the issue.
Tiny little arachnids barely visible to the casual observer are hardly something to ring a bell and scream 'UNCLEAN' about whilst running around like medievil peasents baying for a witches blood.
Get over it. Everytime you shake a collegues hands you put yourself at significantly greater risk of 'dirty' ill health than you would meeting the poor person (who is undoubtedly being made to feel wrongly ashamed) who happens to have caught a very common, very harmless parasite linked to high standards of personal hygiene.
Get over yourself and stop acting like an Elementary school student.
