i dont think anyting will be able to stop china, like you say the sheer population rules out military action, trade sanctions wont work as everyone relies on them for products and general manufacturing. China will implode probably when they do boom and if there is a power struggle, every country tends to have one, but their communist-democratic system of government seems to keep everyone happy.
