nice, but bud try using color balence:
This is how it works:
1. Blend your image in.
2. Goto image-desaturate
3. Hit "Ctrl+U" and just move the middle scale to the far left so that it makes the signature grey.
4. Hit the half black/white circle at the bottom of the layers menu and select "colorbalence".
5. In this order mess with the "HIGHLIGHTS" THEN THE "SHADOWS" THEN THE "MIDTONES", and your done.
