On the second on i would make the majority of the name (the middle that's not in caps) fit in the white box because then it's just like you have the white box trhere for nothing. Also, don't put so much drop shadow on the name.

on the first one i`m not picking but something don`t look right with the dog? i think too much white maybe, experiment with blending mode eg multiply/darken etc
