yet another SYSTM DUMP.TXT problem

I had just purchased a new mother board,an Epox wth nForce 2 chipset,AMD Athlon 2400 XP +,ATI Radeon 7200,512mb DDR,60 gig hard drive.I know that this has come up before but no one seems to know.I am not sure if my grphics card is ready t poop out or what. But before the start of the mission after it has loaded, all that appears is a white screen with "continue" at the bottom and a bell sound. Then when i press escape the error messege appears.I have a friend that has the AMD athlon 2000 and he also has an ATI card, but I think the 9200 something, his seems to be running glitch free.My OS is XP Pro.With DFLW I get to play for a while then the frame rates start to drop, then it just ceases and I have to restart or it restarts by it self.:(

i know this is a bit old thread but did you ever get it to work any?

i would say update the whole system all the hardware and windows update site.

but it may have been to late to tell you that this is a old thread.

basic when one buy's a new system go and update the whole thing then the games may work 100% great.

Chammy 06-16-2005 03:18 AM

Wow, that was quite a while back but thanks. Yeah I got past it, and i fergot how, now when I reinstall it I get a messege saying Path EXEC or something of that matter, and I cant install the game, althoguh I can install Joint Ops and Extreme but not DFBHD or Land Warrior.

Hellfighter 06-16-2005 03:25 AM

do it say 16bit error with it? when you try to instill them 2 games?

"16 bit Windows Subsystem AUTOEXEC.NT The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications."

thread Link: http://www.novahq.net/forum/showthre...threadid=25558

if it is the same error then go here get my patch i made will fix it. this is due to Windows Xp Sp2 it goofup, left out two files will fix it right, you can all so get them out of your windows backup folder too.

get it going 100% check for windows updates there are new update and GFX card updates too.

Chammy 06-16-2005 03:34 AM

Chammy 09-13-2005 03:03 PM

Well i installed it and still, i get this messege:

The Win16 Subsystem was unable to enter Protected Mode, DOSX.EXE must be in your AUTOEXEC.NT and present in your PATH.

Thats it! :*(

Chammy 09-13-2005 03:04 PM

This happens when I try to install BHD. I installed the SP2 pack without any problem.

Hellfighter 09-13-2005 06:34 PM

you need to go here and do as others have done to fix it

Link: http://www.novahq.net/forum/showthre...threadid=25558

this always happen with SP2 good news you can fix it.

Chammy 09-13-2005 07:21 PM

Ok, im going there now, i have been trying to find some info lately on how to fix this. I looked into the system32 areas of the autoexec.nt and config.nt and made sure most of them ended up with the .exe ending. thanks, I'm going to cross my fingers.

Hellfighter 09-13-2005 09:23 PM

don't change the .nt to .exe you get more error doing that.

i think your system32 files are damage or gone bad in some way.

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to access a 16-bit application from Windows NT and are using Fprot.exe, the following error message is displayed:

The Win16 Subsystem was unable to enter Protected Mode, DOSX.EXE must be in your AUTOEXEC.NT and present in your PATH.

CAUSE:
Fprot.exe inadvertently changes the file's attributes to read/hidden/system attributes. The following may be affected:
• WINNTxx
• WINNTxx\SYSTEM
• WINNTxx\SYSTEM32
• WINNTxx\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS
• WINNTxx\SYSTEM32\REPAIR

RESOLUTION
Compare the damaged system with a fresh install of NT on a second computer and reset the attributes with either the "attrib" command or File Manager.

this the search i found about it: http://support.microsoft.com/search/...XE+&range=1-20

Chammy 09-14-2005 12:58 AM

Oh man, I think I'm up the creek with this then, I dont have a second comp, just the ability to purge my computer.

You see, I can install JO and Extreme but not DFBHD or DFLW.

Ooohh shazbutt!

Hellfighter 09-14-2005 01:13 AM

my system is actiing up to, seem all the files on my HHD are listed [X] read only? i try to change it but it keep going back to read only.
