How do I blend Images in Photoshop 7?

I need to know how to blend images in Photoshop 7. I also need to know how to insert two of the same pictures into a layer so that I can blend them.

erm u could change the layer settin into sumthing like color dodge,color burn,pin light and so on or use the rubber

I need to know how to exactly put them in the same layer, where can I find a step by step tutorial to show me how to?

in the layer menu have the images together i.e. one directly above the other.

highlight the top layer

hit the little arrow in the circle (in the layer menu)

merge down
