Joining a Host on LAN
 

Hi Guys,
I Have one major problem, which i hope you can help me out with :)

I am third in a strand of networked computers in my house. My dad plays delta force 2, we can play in the same server (due to the altering of the mpgameport in the df2.cfg file) but me or my brother (second computer) cannot join when he hosts.

We are behind a D-Link Ethernet Hub, and my dad has to run Nat32 so we can connect to the internet.

Could you please offer some suggestions, as me and my brother are really annoyed.

what happens when u click start game?
can u see the game when u search?
i take it u can access the files on the other comps ok?
got tcp/ip running?

Yes i have TCP/IP Running, i cannot access files on other computers (unfortunatley)

I can see the game in the server screen, but when i try join, it freezes and the host server gets connection interrupted.

why cant you see files on the other comp?
looks like that could be the same problem

Because we dont have a file server, and printer sharing is switched off for security reasons - could this affect it?

can u ping the other computers?

start > run > cmd > ping 'ipofothercomputer'

yeah i can - thanx for your help, there doesnt seem to be any way around it except to buy another connection and host a dedicated server.

How many clans u think gotn their own dedicated games server running 24/7?
