It's been to long..... Dunno what to do cause 5 days downtime ruined a lot for us :mad:.

First I would like to say sorry for all the sites that suffered with our top50 code on there site. I will look for a way around it so it won’t happen again. If I or someone can't fix it I will take the top50 down.

Second, I would like to say sorry for all the squads that have forums hosted by us. Squad forums are critical for communication and without them for 5 days could do some damage. Sorry, if I could have given my host an extra 50 bucks to get dfhq up faster I would have done it. But, it just wasn’t possible.

Last, I would like to say sorry to squad sites that are hosted by us. Same as the forums, I couldn't help it. All I can do is say sorry.

I am not moving hosts again. It's starting to cost a lot. I have put over $1,000 bucks into this site. And it's a pain in the ass the transfer 1 gig of stuff and setup everything again. In my ventures through hosts I have learned how to use Cpanel, Plesk, Ensim, HSP and some manual config in apache. I have also learned that just because the host is 10x more expensive, doesn’t mean it's any better then the 10 dollar one. It's become more time consuming trying to get the website setup the way I want it then it is just enjoying it. If my current host doesn’t live up to the promise I just got, it's the end. I will move to geocities because they seem to be up 24/7 even though I don’t pay 70 bucks a month for it.

Anyone with info on how to re-write a little bit of code for our top50 (will require some JavaScript knowledge) so sites show even when ours is offline will get 10 bucks pay paled to a charity of there choice (Yes you can say [insert your name here] foundation). I will test it first before I hand out money because I know a lot of people will just try and get a free $10. It ain't gunna happen :p.

Panther you do an AWESOME job for all of us that play DF. I know the down time was frusterating, but I also know it was out of your hands (or else it would have been lots shorter!).

so how about premium members? people can donate money for the site, you make a page for it with all of the contributors and you make a forum for everybody who payed money for it or something :)

hey panther, here a message from challenger. Indeed, you do a great job and I know how hard it is to run a big site FOR FREE (!!!).
Maybe you need to start thinking of some adds (no pops). I think everyone would want to see an add on the site as long as it stays online.

About the top50, I may have an idea about solving that problem and I think it can be solved very easy.

Very good idea. I bet you could run DFHQ.net probably almost for free if you took donations. Some of us would donate to you for sure, at least ne person I know wpuld, thats myself :p.

BTW, I have forums hosted by you. Just wanted to say, it was no problemo at all for them being down. Ur a great guy Panther;)
