after all the things i would have sent or posted there, im better off mail a letter off then for the whole world to see

Don't think you have to worrie. It's impossible to look at all data transfered in these networks and by the ISPs, they look at interesting information to prevent crime and terrorism. They would lose alot of valuble intel if they stopped and there would be alot more terrorist attacks and foreign power spying on/in your country.

It's done all over the world and is nothing new. The reason why it's spread so through the news is because it's a good "spie" story that they can make alot of money off. But as I said, it's nothing new, it's done here in Sweden, Germany, Norway, Denmark and the list goes on. It's just more or less open of what they collect and not collect.

Join the club, I did it last year but buyer beware, it's not as easy as you think.
Over the coming weeks you will probably get lot's of notifications from them, don't even say no to them, just close the page or tab.

To prevent auto activations:
Don't like anything on sites or open emails from services like Youtube My space etc. (more especially, accounts like Facebook can reactivate automatically when you do)

Chuck the Gmail, it's a Google/Youtube integrated product and Facebook and Twitter all are all linked up big time.

UNLOGGED, ALL THEY GET IS YOUR IP, UNLESS YOU USE A VPN PROXIE service and even then....

BUT!
As soon as you log into gmail, bing! day got ya!
Google browser search engine will start tracking you and even anti tracking tools cannot prevent the Google engine from logging YOU and linking your specific and particular details regarding who you are and where you go.

Of course this will all be accessible for the new "probe" data-base.

Perhaps if you could use a tool like thunderbird email manager to log into gmail without going there from your browser may work.
