No I am making my own SAFE gadjets :) but want to use them in Windows 8 to get away from it's controlling environment.
The windows 8 Metro is a big spyware and Adware program built in to your OS

Hellfighter 11-04-2012 09:15 PM

oh didn't know that, seem odd they came out with that "fix it" item from Microsoft
to disable sidebar and gadgets

for windows vista and 7

Guest001 11-04-2012 09:26 PM

Yes there are a lot of 3rd party malicious gadgets but the built in microsoft ones were safe except even they collected data.

Guest001 11-04-2012 09:30 PM

There is no reason to disable them all together but a good excuse to replace all that with metro.
I imagine that if a Metro item is a data streaming "content tile" and if the site it is connected to was down it would slow desktop start up or it would sit there continually trying to access the remote content.

Remember the active desktop problems of old?

Guest001 11-04-2012 09:33 PM

Ingenious device it is. (Metro) Imagine the advertising clout it will give them? (Microsoft)

Millions of users immediately and directly exposed.

Hellfighter 11-05-2012 02:03 AM

yea have to agreed with that

Trying to make my own gadgets like this...

http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/a...Q/EditorHQ.png

To get around issues like W7/W8 Administrator rights and UAC I'm hoping to use batch file (.bat) execution instead of "user-path" based executions which can be blocked.

So far in W7 the batch file scripts are working.

say whats so great about windows 8?

what i read there no media player, one has to buy a special package deal to get it
and some other items left out of windows 8 as will

the interface is lack in what seem to lag in looks like box as will one click-on not fantasy looking
http://www.maas360.com/assets/win8dsktp_2.png

remind me of windows 95 some ways the interface

source; http://www.maas360.com/maasters/blog...le-on-desktop/

think windows 7 is the better deal, with the upgrades windows 7 has to boot even

Guest001 11-07-2012 05:08 AM

I'll wait for Windows 9

Hellfighter 11-07-2012 05:36 AM

i read some were windows 8 may have a dual theme desktop

like windows vista/ win7 desktop theme has, but one has to enable them in
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Personalization for windows 8

but the rest is left out save cost and something going on in Germany a firm over there has trouble with Microsoft what its trying to use with firm came out with item

not to clear item use smartphone area of app, to tire now going to bed soon i read more about it later today

Guest001 11-07-2012 08:25 AM

There is a way to disable metro and assemble a desktop by sneaky burrowing.
(this I have known for months)

There are 3rd party apps being developed to enhance it as we speak.

Stardock has one ($4.99) but I don't trust them, once long ago I had a suite of programs worth 60-70 dollars from them and then 12 months later they say pay again, pay every year, I say get lost for sure.

Hellfighter 11-07-2012 03:37 PM

yea i use to use Stardock as will
still get spam e-mail some time from them

tell you the truth i never care for it much for some reason

Still trying to figure out what other Gadgets are needed.

Most hard drive programs can be launched from desktop without sidebar.

It must be cool to be able to invent those items, but (in the end) isn't the basic program launch methods enough without all the other sidebar gadget clutter?

Just me, but I want the basic Feeds from my sidebar.

Everything I need is already on my desktop without having to search my hard drive.

Guest001 11-07-2012 07:39 PM

I don't use gadgets in windows 7
I am only trying this for future Windows versions that will try to Bingo, Metro, Cosmo,
me with whatever...

Guest001 11-07-2012 07:45 PM

I have batch files for executing programs by subject.

IE... click on desktop link called "My Office" and Word, Calc, Google maps address book banking safezone and Thunderbird eMail opens

"Editing-DFX2" and DFX2 Med, Auto MIS file backup, pff editor etc open all at once.
stuff like that
