If you know anything about *.end and *.cin files, just write about it here...

It's been a LONG time since I tinkered with CIN and END files but everything I know I learned from a post EagleEye made about 7 years ago. He went in depth with it and showed what every number meant but sadly it was on dfbarracks and I can't access it. So I'll try to explain it the best I can. Ok, lets open up a cin file.

BEGIN MOVECAMERA you need this to start
TICKS_START 0 this is your first camera position so its 0
TICKS_DURATION 180 this is how much time is spent on this camera, if you want it to fly faster you just make it longer
CINDEX CAMERA1
CBEGIN -437.337 361.385 62.0 100 345 000 these are the grid coordinates the camera will start on, i forget in what order theyre named but it's Z axis, Y axis, and X axis, the 3 numbers after that are direction, rotation, and tilt
CEND -437.337 361.385 62.0 100 345 000 this is where the camera will end up using the same format, its a very simple move from point A to point B ticks_duration determines how fast or slow
FOV 4259840 I havent used this but I think this is field of vision, do you want to have tunnel vision or fish eye?
END you put an end to each camera position

BEGIN EDITFADE you use this block of text to transition to another camera
TICKS_START 170 the 'fading' effect begins at 170 where the camera will run until 180 as youve seen it set to
TICKS_DURATION 20 the fading effect will last 20 ticks, overlapping into the next camera
CINDEX_BEGIN CAMERA1
CINDEX_END CAMERA2
END

BEGIN MOVECAMERA as you can see, i just copied the previous camera and changed it to be camera 2
TICKS_START 180 this camera starts when the other one ends
TICKS_DURATION 180
CINDEX CAMERA2 its camera 2, respectively
CBEGIN -437.337 361.385 62.0 100 345 000
CEND -437.337 361.385 62.0 100 345 000
FOV 4259840
END

at this point the cameras end and the mission begins. if this were a .end file, this would be when the mission complete screen would come in

I don't know if all this is 100% accurate, but now you have the gist of it, you may need to rework some of the numbers to get it working

Well, to be 'more specific', .cin is the cinematic camera at the beginning of a map. And .end is when the map end, will do a 'custom animation', that you choose where the camera go, not like the normal ending of maps, that you see the player. But i never figured out how to do a .cin or .end file.

M.M. 06-15-2011 10:45 AM

Thanks for fast answer Mstenger404,but how to make *.cin and *.end files???

Luis 06-15-2011 11:00 AM

You may try reading this or this.

dave61 06-15-2011 07:56 PM

Sounds interesting, and I'd really like to see this in a map to see how this works.

Luis 06-15-2011 08:04 PM

I like maps that use these files. It make the map more interesting.

M.M. 06-17-2011 02:31 AM

I agree. Map is more cool when it starts with movie, or finish with movie!

Luis 06-23-2011 03:12 PM

Well, here is a DEMO map that i made sometime ago,
it has an .END and a .CIN file. Is for DFBHD.
***;>HERE YOU GO!!!<;***
I hope someone will take a look at this. Also,
i used a .PWF and .DFP file in this map using DIALOG EDITOR.
IF someone want to learn these files,
>HERE YOU GO!< for PCM files, >HERE FOR TUTORIAL< of the program and HERE for the program itself..

dave61 06-23-2011 03:58 PM

Very cool !

It didn't work the first time I played the map. But when I replayed the map a second time it did play.

One question though, was there meant to be a cinematic camera at the begining also? Only an ending cinematic camera played.

Luis 06-23-2011 04:02 PM

You may try to extract ALL files,
(i think you already know it lol)..
Try to not press 'ESC' then 'R'. That will not play the .cin file.
Try exiting the game then open it again. Anyway thanks!!

Luis 06-23-2011 04:17 PM

Yes. A cinematic camera need to be played.
Make sure your game is updated to 1.5 and you are using the /d command.
(or that is not ur question?)

Ah, I did not use the /d command.

But somehow the ending camera played without it.

Luis 06-23-2011 04:25 PM

But the intro movie worked now?

dave61 06-23-2011 04:28 PM

Yes, now I see both the intro and the ending cameras ! :clap2:

Good work ! Very cool !

Luis 06-23-2011 04:30 PM

Thanks!! but,
You make Maps for BHD?

dave61 06-23-2011 04:36 PM

I've tried mapping with BHD, not as easy as DFX mapping.
So far, no maps for BHD.

My DFX maps:

My DFX2 maps:
http://www.novahq.net/?show=maps&cmd...ave61&x=12&y=6

Luis 06-23-2011 04:39 PM

I already played DFX and DFX2,
But i don't like to make maps for that (dont know why :dontknow:)
and about the NILE? Only DFX works with that? or BHD Too? :run:

dave61 06-23-2011 04:43 PM

I hate NILE. I 've tried it and don't like it.

I've always mapped using the MED.
