new machine yet it is only running 32bit OS?

Hellfighter 02-14-2009 01:56 PM

is this one of their bundle package deals?

Troy 02-14-2009 02:08 PM

Custom Will. Yea shoot. The 64 wasn't available with these Specs. So I grabbed the Quad 32Bit. Few months old.

you can always upgrade things to it, thats a good thing to make it even better a lot of option there

Troy 02-14-2009 02:51 PM

Yes Sir, I am a DIE HARD DELL FANATIC! One of the last Great American Success Stories of the Future, heh. :)

yeah right lol - my sister bought a brand new dell laptop - mouse touch pad didn't work right 5 minutes out of the box. Took it to tech support and of course they couldn't duplicate it took two weeks before they finally they exchanged it for an other dell, same model and specs... same problem.

She returned it, got an HP - works flawlessly (not to mention got a better laptop system specs wise).

A squad mate went through 3 dell desktops before just getting a local computer store to build one.

A couple years ago my friends boss followed dells recommendation to install an update, My friend latter dragged me out to his house to solve some issues, ended up re-formating drive... we made extra sure not to install any dell software.

though, on the plus note - my squads server is a dell, been running 24/7 for just about 2 years with no hardware problems. of course, I also made sure to remove any dell software.

This shows why I don't pay as much attention to reviews any more - every one has their own experiences :D

had a buddy tell me the samething about gateway i got one paid a bundle for it and basic it crash weekly, i got use to redoing the whole system like monthly, build my own computer and got all the hardware for it, windows xp only crash 1x or 2x a year

some reason this year only it crash a lot, don't know it has to do with the new SP-3 for it or some other reason

i disable router remote service option in it, seem to stop crashing on me after i disable that option

I purchase my DELLS thru www.dell.com and I request them to be customized to my Specs. They've always built me wonderful Machines and the DELL Support I've been in touch with were Top Class. Unparalled to any other support I've ever needed. I started on Personal Computers back in 1986 with a Tandy 2000 and have had many Brands and Self Built Customs over the years. I'll always purchase a good Warranty for the Products I need most. DELL Delivers! :)

I am sorry you all have not had a good experience with it.

Nice PC.

I don't like buying from manufacturers anymore. Sure you get tech support, but i like to get my tech support from google.com. And with package computers, they don't seem to like you installing whatever you want. Its like they're built for the generic PC stuff and thats it lol.

Just my experiences though ;P

Thanks! I cannot praise DELL without telling the Gods honest truth and I'm not lying. I'm sitting on this Rocketship right now laughin'! ahaha THEY ARE THE BEST!

Go Quad when you can. They are unbelievable. I would love 64 Bit but I needed something to upgrade to. Always waiting for Technology so it seems. Good Business..

atholon 02-15-2009 12:08 AM

Dell isn't the best... I prefer to build desktops.

Looks like pretty good specs except for the video card. :|

Mstenger404 02-15-2009 08:09 AM

I hope you don't plan on gaming on that machine

.Simon. 02-15-2009 09:01 AM

Btw Troy... how much did you pay for that?

atholon 02-15-2009 11:01 AM

I don't see how he would have a problem gaming on it as long as he sticks better video card in it.

.Simon. 02-15-2009 11:48 AM

Im waiting to hear that it cost $1500+ :P

The Radeon HD 3870 has a dual-slot cooler on top to help keep the faster core and memory nice and cool. The Radeon HD 3870 is clocked at 777MHz. So the Radeon HD 3870 has 107MHz core clock boost. The Radeon HD 3870 uses 512MB of 1.2GHz GDDR4 memory, which is an improvement over the 256MB of 900MHz GDDR3 that the Radeon HD 3850 has. The cooling fan on the ATI Radeon 3870 is obviously bigger than the Radeon HD 3850, and it is also louder. The acoustics on the Radeon 3850 is 31dBA compared to 34dBA on the Radeon HD 3870. In short, the Radeon HD 3870 has higher clock speeds and as a result has bigger and better cooling.

I'm ready for some games bubba.http://www.legitreviews.com/images/r...n_3870_dvi.jpg

Troy 02-15-2009 01:15 PM

Yes, Simon it was expensive. I just ordered a new set of Logitech 5.1 300+ Watt Speaker System last night and 1GB of Memory to take it to 4GB. I've spent over a Couple Grand.

atholon 02-15-2009 02:36 PM

Aight, now that we know what video card .. you now have a pimpin' system. Congrats bro.

Troy 02-15-2009 02:49 PM
