Far Cry

Yesterday I was playing it on medium lol, and suprisingly that was hard, a bit... :D

So I started all over again on easy, and so far, so good.

Man it was all paradise until later on in the game it turns into night-time, and killing Trigens in underground bases. Starting to get scary here... lol. :(

Man I hate those elite mercs lol. One part involved me trying to get past them in a room, where I seriously needed CryVision enabled - thing is, when I chucked it on, it lagged me out, so I had to stick to my flashlight. :D

I think I'm on the chapter "Cooler" now, which shouldn't be too far away from the end. I'm also being lazy and using the walkthrough every now and then, hehe.

Graphics are definitely good for its time. I'm playing it on all low settings (except texture detail which is on medium). Seen screenies of it on very high, and it looks somewhat similiar to Crysis.

Hope it goes to day time again in the game. The night is getting scary... :D

I heard that farcry 2's graphics were not as good as crysis and that it had a lot of bugs still

katana*GFR* 10-25-2008 12:18 PM

graphics are awesome.. You will only notice it on a $9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 dollar machine...

Oyeah, they both have there own engine, so that makes a difference also... Haven't found any bugs yet apart for the fact that it say's my drivers are outdated.. And i updated them 3 days ago... Must be because i have 64 bit.

I hear it runs ok on 8600M GT's which is what I was going to get in my laptop.

There are people on my xbox live friends list that have seriously been playing this game 24/7. It must be pretty good. I am going to be picking it up sometime soon. Right now i'm hooked on Saints Row 2 and Fable 2.

Do you have an 8600M in your laptop scott? If you do, can you tell me how it runs? I have heard that most people can run everything on high but the shadows.

Spammers, we're talking about FC1 here! Jokes hehe, I do the same thing every now and then. :D

Unfortunately this crappy rig won't run FC1. Maybe my new comp would.

Crysis seems to sound slightly more interesting than FC2 now, since it's beating it so much in reviews (not saying reviews define how good a game is or anything). Just been reading the reviews and I've seen some not too good things mentioned about it.

But hell, check out that map editor. That is sweet. Finally we have a game title that is similiar to DF, where you insert assets into the terrain instead of making them from scratch, like UnrealEd. :D

I is completed FC1, woot!

*SPOILER*, and for the record, I popped Doyle in the ass with my G36 grenade launcher. :D

I have an 8400M GS and when I get FarCry i'll be getting it for xbox so I can't really help you.. it should play the game just fine though. Just depends on how much detail you want.

oh snap, I am probably going to get an HD 3650 anyway, the screen is smaller, 15" is still pretty big for a school laptop.
