cooling tower demolition this morning
 

2 cooling towers in Sheffield were set for demolition at 3am this morning. as i can see them from my window (2 miles or so) i thought i'd wake up at watch the action.

after the smoke cleared it was clear it didnt exactly go as planned :D someone is in big trouble :D

notice a large section of the left tower still standing??

the problem is that you see the bridge infront of the pic? that is the M1 motorway, and it's about 9 metres away from the tower. that's what was so tricky about the demolition job. the fact that the motorway has been shut, and will continue to be shut until the job is done, means that this is one big **** up :D

woow thats something in the state they never build bridges so close to them type of towers

must be hard up on land space over there to build them two bridges
not knocking you all for it only seem really odd to do it thats all.

yeah it was unusual, they would never do anything like that these days.

they prob built the station 1st.. then built the motorway at a later stage.. without thinking of the future lol

come on!! lets face the facts here they were thinking of women's big tall cone shape sticking way up high towers and like them what they saw in them, so they build a highway to show them off more of them to the world!! but after a time they got too old and we know what happen they did not like the look of them anymore!! lol

old age get to them all, specially big cone they go flat after a time. they had to remove them totally from the public eye
