I wasn't alive during the 50's nor any period near the 50's so I wouldn't have the slightest clue.

The actor is most famous as a "swashbuckler" (not quite sure why you need to buckle a swash :) ) and as "Robin Hood".

I bet you can't guess who played the Indian boy. :D

Most westerns/scifi/asian films have been influenced by "Seven Samurai", so this film probably has as well. :D

Never seen the movie, but I'm gonna go with The Last Samurai and Tom Cruise.
