No one can join my hosted games
 

I have a major problem. I make and play all custom maps, except I have just found out why ppl dont join. Its becuase they are inable of joining. The get to the joining gme screen and then just stop. I am running off cable modem so it cant be that. I just need to know what the problem is, Please Help

Best remedy is to stay off of the No-CD patch for a while, until a more stable one comes out. I had the same problem. Replaced the No-CD patch TFD.EXE file witht the original one and ran the updated agaiin. Runs like a charm ... Minor CD insert discomfort ... I say something is better than nothing ;)

Nope that is not my prob. i do not have the no cd patch downloaded.

Ok when I host a map ... I run System Wizard on. This make it more smoothly ... And I de activate my regular firewall(s) and turn on Tiny Personal Firewall This is best when playing and of the DF series games, because it doesn't slow the game while you still have security! :)

ok but i dont have a firewall ? if that was the case tho why will stock maps work ?

Try starting your game with /L to generate a log file. The file may contain some details as to why a person is not permitted to join (ie. a height error in the map, missing terrain, etc)

people cant join the game, i am running xp, no firewall is on, i can play , but it says name xyz joining, then they leave. it is someplace in xp,buty where i do not know. one of the services im sure. i checked everything i could think of already.

Do you people have No-CD pathes installed??

1.)if you use a spec-terrain added into a map the other party have to have it too.
2.) you said you use the basic maps it works ok for you to host with then it has to do with them custom map's may be a bad map leave it out look for other maps to use.
3.) test a map do this you get a new map try to host it ask a buddie to come in to see he can get in ok your testing a new map out to see if it works out ok. if he can't get in then the test fail if he can get the map pass ok.

A footnote: any maps or spec-items added into it all partys most have to play in same area {terrain/sky others} that are not part of the normal map items.some map makers add in spec-terrain even sky screen to the map these can keep out other player who don't have this in thier Delta Force software ie DF: 1/2/lw/tfd,even DF:bhd
