NZ Cadet Forces
NZ Cadet Forces
I might be going to join the Cadet Forces/Army School later on this year in the school holidays when I'm 13. http://www.cadetforces.mil.nz/ I'm still going to secondary school; but I'm also going to do Cadets in the school holidays. You can basically volunteer whenever you want. And hopefully they still have it all running in the school holidays. :D This'll get me prepared for the army when I'm older. As I'm starting on doing 15 pressups in the morning and night everyday. Getting used to it hehe... :) :D I decided to go there once front-liner mentioned it to me, and then at school I was looking at the NZ Army site (http://www.army.mil.nz/) and I came across the ''Cadet Forces NZ'' link. I then asked my teacher more about it. I want to go because the biggest reason is it's going to get me more social. :) And it's going to be a great experience too. :) What do you guys think? good on u for doing those press ups but i give u the advice 2 start doing a bit more every day and also try doing crunches there just like sit-ups but u only go half way up it will strengthen ur stomach muscles in no time
good work. |
do crunches with a slight twist, up left, up center, up right, repeat. 100 times (maybe 50 to start), 2 sets. It’s the routine I did when I was in boxing, every night. You won’t feel much at all if you get hit in the abs . If you are having problems with pushups (alot do, I did) then do elevated pushups until you are stronger, but do 20 instead 15.
If you’re looking to build endurance take a boxing class... you won’t believe how much work 3-4 two minute rounds are ;) |
have fun with cadets chris!!!
i was in the sea cadets (navy cadets) over here in the uk for 5 and a half years... loved every minute of it! |
good luck bro sounds like fun. wish i could do that instead of the real army sounds like u get to do all the fun stuff the military does without the stupid stuff thrown in the mix.

Woops...erm...yeah like what KB said, its not as serious as the real army, but it gives you an insight into what it can be like. I was in the Army cadets for two years, attained teh rank of Lance Corporal...now, i am a qualified radio operator and a competent rifleman. But the best part is putting on NVGs and running off into the bush near our cadet base hunting each other in the darkness. Good times... Just be cautious when the word "bivuwac" comes up...prepare your mozzie repelent... Nah, cadets is good fun. Once you get into it, you'll make some good mates and learn some great skills. Good luck with it mate. :) |
Chris
I think it is nice that you are so focused on going there. For me I do: Crunches with a twist (like scott said) about 100 of those Pushups about 50 in the morning and 50 at night then I go for a 6-10 mile run at about 5am. Even though I destroyed my growth plate in my ankle I still work out to keep myself in shape :) Try starting small with multiple types of workouts try running around your block once or twice in the morning. |
chris sounds great, if they tell you do something go do it, it's a great learning time for you, as will get out to see other people and learn some new skills.
really wish you the best and its a good start to get into as will. don't get hardcore ether you would lose friends that way. be who you are! but learning is the best. my grand father once told me a man learn things in his life! but he got over his head and starting to think he was better then other! till one day some other person out did him. be who you are and never think you are better then other you only lose. |
I was almost sure I posted here, but then again my memory is weak heh
Sounds great! We don't have anything like that, oh wait I think there's a "mini lumpen" for 15 and 16 year olds, but I'm not sure. |
