What are you going to do when you grow up?

What are you going to do when you grow up?

Gonna serve army for a few years (gonna be bloody hard), and then gonna sign up for Microsoft. I can do it now in fact and wait until 18. But damn, I select my country and it takes me to the same page!

No spamming please.

Ill probably end up moving somewhere to europe or Japan. Or would like to. I like America but I don't like where it is going. I think sooner or later, this country is going to be out of control so I want to be out of it before its too late. Or so I dont have to go through it. But job wise, my goal is to be some sort of computer engineer. Either Hardware or software. Preferrably software. I enjoy building computers a lot more than coding, gfx ect. Which if i plan to get to that point, i need to start getting serious about school because i have messed up and screwed around a lot in school so far. Thats why I am quiting WoW, its taken over my life lol. No social life anymore because of that game.

army infantry, doing the medical bit built in2 it, then when i have the right rank, ill apply for close protection courses.. stay there as long as possible and maybe become an instructor

SilentTrigger 08-04-2006 09:01 AM

Depends on what you mean with grown up. I change my plans about twice a month. I would have liked to join the army, but I'm too old now and that dream was blown up by my crappy knees, thankfully my brother took on the military. So its atleast taken down in generations.

GOing by your picture, i don't reckon you'd make it in the army. You look too much liek a natured child, like a mummys boy, kinda one that can't live without his mum or dad, also if you wanna join army, you need to build abit of muscle up;)

Start workin out now... and in a few years, you might have a chance...

But hey, best of luck mate :)

-Tigger- 08-04-2006 11:07 AM

^ dude hes under 13.. lol.. besides lol, not every1 who joins up 2 the army is a mean f'r.. they actually want people who have a brain on their heads and think..

w/e u do dont join up until ur 18.. and try and get the best education u can get bfore u go in.. not sure wot its like outside of the UK, but the more qualifications u get the better.. since theres 2 rates of pay.. low and high (about 2000 difference a year) as for preparing for it, you should wait until ur atleast 16, since ur still growing doing weights ect, could be a bad idea.. also getting fit takes ALOT of patience.... doesnt happen overnight..

silent what was wrong with ur knees? i used to have a problem with them whenever id say run 800m, i wasnt out of breath but my knees made me stop, started cycling (around 10km a day.. indoor and out ((crap uk weather)) seems to hav sorted that out, but it worried me like f.. when i went on work exp and had probs with them.. had been focusing so much on my arm strength ect id left out my legs leaving it unbalanced.. lol

wow big post.. :O

Look into a "combat medic" they server both they are in it all with the infantry saving lifes.

combat medic is not your normal medic ether they are spec-train for combat, a normal medic they are in most party in normal united not hardore as a combat medic.

if they ask were you like to be station at? ask for the 82nd Air Born Div there you get some great point to do thing as will some extra points there as will. be a 82nd airborn all the way
===========================================

BB in your case join a combat medic unit and look up for a airborn unite to join with. U.K? scottland there a airborn unit corp up there "edinburg"? don't know i spell it right been a long time 1981 last time i was there.

i was part of for spec training it a great start. you see a great lady with last name blackbird say hi for me ;) lol

they are lean mean mech they don't take crap from no one at all. they will kill as they please

Not sure, never seen a doctor about it. But I've been told to not "push" them to hard, I'm not supposed to sit on my feets with my knees bent, not walk in stairs (well thats pretty imposible, but thats actually what she told me, the nurse that is) Have had it for like 8 years now. Biking don't make it better but thats something I do everyday atleast 10 Km as it is better then walking as it put straints on my knees.

I got good on everything besides my fysical (because of my knees) at the military test center when I was 18. I had plans to do peacekeeping but it was shattered heh :(

I really like the stories of "Norbat 2", makes you want to serve with them and make such a comitment as they did. Even a former 22nd SAS was impressed

Chrispy 08-04-2006 06:04 PM

My brother's at the Air Force, and I'm confident I'll do my best to become very fit and strong to join the army which will become very hard... such as doing 8 miles in less than 20 minutes or whatever...

My main goal is to work at Microsoft and they got a company here in New Zealand. If someone can help me where the page is to sign up, by the time I sign up, when I'm 18, they'll know I'm real passionate about it. I wanna work at Microsoft 'cause I'm a technology whiz... I'm interested in doing graphics for their future products. Nothing's gonna stop me but NHQ ('cause NHQ is addictive! )!

:)

i use to run 10 miles run in Germany, but my knees i had some yellow crap in the joints they drain the left knee, but i would never run again like i use to. i push it to much to get in 1st or 2nd place.

my knee would go numb on me as i get pass 6mile mark (this started like 6mo after into training), it never did that so? i gone to see the good doc in the service he ask me have i ever got really hurt asker was no. my knee was never the same again.

they taken a x-ray of the left knee it was foggy gray area in the join, that is the yellow crap good doc said that is needed to drainout, i still walk ok only can't run as good as i use to.

I can walk, aslong as it's not for too long. Can't run to well either, might be because I barley do it but its also because of the knees. My left knee is worse then my right.

Sal UK 08-05-2006 09:30 AM

Hmm All thats left for me, is to meet my maker... :(

Chrispy 08-05-2006 02:22 PM

I've got a similiar problem like you SilentTrigger*MFA*. When I run, my legs get real stiff and numb for no reason at all. Is it that I haven't been doing enough stretches?
