.enfo. 07-23-2006 01:12 PM

bloody scary to look at, are they doing it on purpose ?

-Tigger- 07-23-2006 01:40 PM

looks like they r test pilots doing it (since theres no company markings on them, apart from boeing)

amazing flying :O

Steve 07-23-2006 04:12 PM

yeah had the same thought ^

i know they test all sorts of stuff like that on planes before being allowed to be used with passengers.

Rampage. 07-23-2006 06:44 PM

yea they are doing testing on the structure of the cabin and the wheels, like if the cabin will hold up to being straightened up on landing and if the back wheels will support straighting up the plane, if that makes sence.

SilentTrigger 07-24-2006 07:36 AM

Isn't that the procedure when landing in strong side winds?

Lakie 07-24-2006 08:30 AM

Yep, its termed the crab method, basically you come in travelling straight with the runway, but the nose is pointed off centre into the wind, when close to the runway the pilots manipulate the rudders to align the plane with the runway.

.enfo. 07-24-2006 09:10 AM

wow, never even heard of it, but I've seen it somewhere before, skilled pilots!
