hosting j ops and bhd on same server

k hope this is the right part to post

i have a dedicated server that runs bhd cod2 fear jops jops esc and dfx

we pretty much just run bhd and jops with the odd cod2
only 2 of any combo at any time
if i run cod2 with either bhd or j ops its fine
if i run bhd adn jops or esc
when j ops has a map change bhd gets a 4-5sec ci
when bhd changes map j ops is fine

anyone know a workaround to get rid of this.. except run 1 game only
1 turn off one or the other when the other one is having a match but sometimes we have matches for both games at the same time on same day
(2 squads share the cost of the server so i just run what we need that day)

its not a big problem but it stops the opponent moaning when they lose :D

just wondered if anyone fixed this issue or is stuck like me

we also run teamspeak on it, tried ventrilo but same ci thing ,just incase

btw server spec

amd 3000+
1gig RAM
80gig drive
100mb line unlimited bandwidth for gaming
full access
and i sure sis onboard gcard

server runs like a dream

Never heard of that happening. JO is a bigger game and the map change takes more resources from the server. However it shouldn't cause a CI. Who is your deticated host?

www.xns-networks.com

Never heard of them.
If those problems keep happening you might want to try going to www.twebservers.com and look at thier deticateds.
Only advice I really know to give you.

What kind of computer ya got cause i have noticed cis before when people run there server and minimize and possibly do something else.Ya might want to be sure to get all you cant get for a computer to host like that!

³n.Boogieman 04-21-2006 01:08 PM

my pc amd3500+
2gig ddr400
gf6800 256mb
2x120gig drives

so i dont think its my pc
server specs are as above

when teh 2 games running t hey only take 5-10% of server cpu

-Tigger- 04-21-2006 01:16 PM

are the servers populated?

whats ur connection speed?

do others share it with you?

all of the players get it when teh j ops map changes ( if the j ops is empty no ci arises)

all players have broaband using adsl or cable
personally i have 10mb line and 1 has 24mb line
only a few have lower specced pcs but still plenty for bhd

i run between 150-300fps when runnig fraps on bhd so i know pc is capable
i have also watched the server traffic and with both running it peaks about 3mbps the server is 100mb line as it is located in a datacentre

only thing i can think is when the map loads on jo aswell as sending out the info the players it puts too much of a strain on the pc.. causing it to Ci.

jo is recommended to have 512mb ram, and bhd really needs the same, so you are using most of your ram up

i have an AMD fx-53 and i find it difficult to use the pc while i have a game running in the background

Hes right on that dawg cause with the 2 games taking up all your RAM its also required for other programs to run you have installed on your computer.Ya might not want to host but one at a time unless you have a lot of space for that many!

If it is possible get more Ram 2 Gig+ and i higher end CPu the 3500+ is fine for Hosting one came but for 2 or more it gets Overlaoded and causes CI's to get the data through teh CPU.

extra gig going to be fitted within week or so
but i run freeram xp on it this shows us having between 300 - 500mg free ram when run.
it gets smaller as each map loads i presume and stores teh map info into memory for the next time
the actually hosted games run perfect with no lag at all

anyways soon see how teh ram affects the issue
thanks for teh replies
