lsass.exe

can any1 tell me what is going on, it seams like every time i use my pc lately it comes up with an error that says.
lsass.exe
The instruction at "0x77f51ed3" referenced memory at "0x909006e3" the memory could not be "read"

and sometimes i can continue but sometimes it pops up a screen that says that the lsass.exe terminated sudenly without warning and windows will shut down in ### seconds.
i havnt a clue to what is going on.

Oh when your computer can't like startup sometimes? Becuase I have the same thing. The first time it shows that System Memory Dump. I think maybe it's a ... VIRUS!!!!

I got last time a dell computer and then I got the same thing. So then I though of course it's a virus. So then I bought another new motherboard. And then guess what? It does works. Then of course I gave it to my bother.

Is windows updated to the latest version?

Reminds me of the activity of the sasser virus/worm.

Update windows and update and run your antivirus program.

The symantec removal tool for all varients is here, you may want to try that.

Mauser 98K 12-30-2005 05:34 PM

ok, antivir scan only thing it found was a backdoor called bds small or something.
sasser wasnt found using the symantec scanner fixer program.
spyware didnt show anything.
and adware scan didnt show anything.
it still does it.

DevilDog#1 12-30-2005 06:05 PM

You might need a FULL scan bud. Try any of the free online ones.

Mauser 98K 12-30-2005 08:22 PM

ok after a update of my anti spyware, they added another update 20min after i updated walago lol.
anyway i found something called win32.Hwbot with 2 entries. and done 3 full scans with diffrent programs and havnt found anything else, so maby this has got it.

DevilDog#1 12-30-2005 08:23 PM

Which "programs" do you have?

Mauser 98K 12-30-2005 08:28 PM

well i got spybot S&D fer the spyware, i have AntiVirus Personal made in germany for the viruses it protects aganst over 500,000 viruses.
i have ADaware by lavasoft for the adware problems. all of them are up to date.
and i also have a firewall made by zonelabs called zonealarm, but i aint impressed with it.

Mauser 98K 12-30-2005 09:19 PM

so far so good, it hasnt done that in over an hour and it did do it everytime i used my pc.
i think it was win32.Hwbot
if it does it again well find out.

Webviper2006 12-30-2005 09:33 PM

Mauser 98K 12-30-2005 10:23 PM

it poped up and everytime i tried to delet it, i dont know it must have been duplicating itself fer i had to quarentene it and delete it at reboot.

you find it listed in download area: http://216.180.233.162/~merijn/files/HijackThis.exe

it really good program to have a tech or some one who knows what to look for bugs in the system.

bugs: adware/spy-ware/viruses and any other crap that don't need to be running.

learn more about it from the main site: http://tomcoyote.org/hjt/#Top

don't know if they are still helping others out here but go there and post your HiJack.log there you may have to attach it to the forum or copy and past it in, it counts how the admin there like it to be done.

just because some thing is free doesn't mean it is bad. especially if it can do the same or more then some thing you paid for.
