About NovaLogic

Well I played most games. I mean Novalogic games. I own Joint Operations but not the other one. I don't really like jungle maps and jungle games.

So people who are reading this what do you think they will make the next game.

Vote to the Poll Please :)

Well when they were advertising for staff not too long ago they wanted someone with Chinese millitery knowledge, So I guess it will be set in the China Jungle or something like that.

So i went for another jungle game, Not because Thats what I would like. But more of what I think is coming.

Mind you I should add I Love nova games I own all exept TFD, But they have gone a bit slack on fixing the things that can be fixed.

Hellfighter 11-29-2005 08:14 PM

yea they don't do a very good job on cleaning things up to much. fixing thing their track record is really bad when it comes to fixing things in their games like half pass jobs.

like to hear more about that unreal engine what they have plan for that.

I dont think the Unreal Engine would be any good for A DF/JO game, Though there would be some advantages like being able to create your own buildings ect, There are too many drawbacks.

The map size would be a lot smaller, The maps would have to be downloaded. (Nothing worse than joining a server and a Custom map is being played and having to sit there for half hour while it download from the server at 2k.) Map Makers would not find map making as easy as they do in Med/Nile.

Also UnrealED is really Unstable if you click on something while in the wrong window and UnrealED just crashes to the desktop and all your work has gone if you forget to save.

Just a couple of disadvantages to UnrealED.

Most of the errors or bugs in JO/JO:E and DFX are not fixable like the vehicles going through walls and trees ect is actually the way the engine works it wasnt designed for Driving anything, But it would have taken a total rewrite of the engine to fix, So Thats why that never got fixed.

Just a few of my thoughts...lol

Terry 11-30-2005 01:58 PM

think they called it joint operations m8... but the engine sucked!!!

Webviper2006 11-30-2005 02:34 PM

YEAH It Would

BADDOG 12-02-2005 09:48 AM

I think it will be another jungle based game as it's a very rich enviroment for a game to be built around but I guess we will have to wait and see.

Regards

good news they going to use Unreal Engine in the next game they come out with.

Mauser 98K 12-09-2005 06:16 PM

i think the next game will be even more aganst the snipers.
and it will probably be even more spray and pray, witch seams to sell better than anything that requires any planning out, cause any1 can just grab a gun and start spraying anything that moves

They will continue the fight! I don't fair well with Desert warfare mainly because I was specially trained in Jungle, Snow and Rain in a Mountainous Enviroment and the common Marine Corps Beach Assaults and Urban Warfare that we are infamous for. I think they should make a Marine Corps based Game sometime in thier history. Don't forget, there are real joint operational teams from all specially trained services.. Some in which were never recorded and never exitsted, nor did thier missions.

Where did you hear that? I think using a reliable engine compatible with RAGDOLL PHYSICS would be a great descision for Nova. I think everyone knows that using an open standard for developing something works better. Plus, it isn't even funny how outdated the "BlackHawk" engine that Nova uses is. Yes, the UnrealEd engine is extremley hard to make maps in compared to the MED, but you have to make everything from scratch. That means no more custom maps with the same flat boring terrain, and the same boring objects. And for those of you that think downloadable content would be a bad, and slow thing. It's not. In RS3: Raven Shield, you could download a 13MB map within seconds.

The thing that sucks about Nova's game is, you have to make a new MOD if you wanted to put a new pop can in a map. Witjh UnrealEd, you can download anything when joining a server.

Unfortunately, it probably will be even more against snipers. I created a 40 page thread at Novaworld's forum asking why they had to take away sniping bonuses, and limit your rounds for two spare clips on sniper rifles (i argued i could carry more rounds than that in the cargo pockets of my shorts). And i hope to God that Nova's next release isn't a spray and pray game, because there are too many of those. I'm a real big CQB type of guy, but i'm the covert / tactical kind, not the spray and pray kind. I thought that Joint Ops was going to be that type of covert, forest CQB gameplay but it was the opposite. I hate extemley huge maps.
