OK they are not exactly motivational but I like them.
Winston Churchill "History will be kind to me for I intend to write it." "Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm." "When the eagles are silent, the parrots begin to jabber. " J. R. R. Tolkien "It's a dangerous business going out your front door." Groucho Marx "Either this man is dead or my watch has stopped." "Women should be obscene and not heard." Ronald Reagan "I have left orders to be awakened at any time in case of national emergency, even if I'm in a cabinet meeting." "My fellow Americans, I am pleased to tell you I just signed legislation which outlaws Russia forever. The bombing begins in five minutes." Margaret Thatcher "I usually make up my mind about a man in ten seconds; and I very rarely change it." "I am extraordinarily patient, provided I get my own way in the end." Ozzy Osbourne "Bubbles! Oh come on Sharon! I'm fucking Ozzy Osbourne, I'm the Prince of fucking Darkness. Evil! Evil! What's fucking evil about a shitload of bubbles!?" "I can honestly say, all the bad things that ever happened to me were directly, directly attributed to drugs and alcohol. I mean, I would never urinate at the Alamo at nine o'clock in the morning dressed in a woman's evening dress sober." |
The most motivational quote ever, by my dad:

"The word apathetic was designed by politicians to call the people what they really think to their face, its a code, drop the first letter, if you understand this then i can tell you you will breeze through this class"
- My politics teacher, the quote is usually told with it ceasing at the word letter. |
My favourite quote comes from an incident involving Winston Churchill and a lady memeber of parliament, I don't know for sure that this quote is only apochryphal but it is something that Winston Churchill would most likely have said:
Lady to Winston Churchill: "Sir if you were my husband I would poison your drink!" Winston Churchill to Lady: "Madam if you were my wife I would drink it!" Another quote comes from an old friend of mine called Joe Walher who was an operations manager for British Airways and involves a pilot talking to a very nervous passenger aboard a Boeing 747. Nervous Passenger to pilot: "How often do these 747's crash?" Pilot to nervous passenger: "Only once!" One of my all time favourites is actually in my signature on every post, it's from one of the most controversial, flmaboyant but very effective general's of world war 2. "If a man gives his best then what else is there?" General George S. Patton. A quote that says is all about soldiers every where! Warm Regards to all :) :) :) :) :) |
Those are all great quotes! Thanks for sharing them with us all! Here are a few of my favorites:
By Norman MacLean If our father had had his say, nobody who did not know how to catch a fish would be allowed to disgrace a fish by catching him. One of life's quiet excitements is to stand somewhat apart from yourself and watch yourself softly becoming the author of something beautiful, even if it is only a floating ash. Poets talk about "spots of time," but it is really fishermen who experience eternity compressed into a moment. No one can tell what a spot of time is until suddenly the whole world is a fish and the fish is gone. I shall remember that son of a bitch forever. I sat there and forgot and forgot, until what remained was the river that went by and I who watched. On the river the heat mirages danced with each other and then they danced through each other and then they joined hands and danced around each other. Eventually the watcher joined the river, and there was only one of us. I believe it was the river. "... but you can love completely without complete understanding." <>< <:{{{}}}>< |

"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."

That's not bad Living. My Dad in the drivers seat of his Van knocked me out of the Van with one smack infront of a Preachers Son sitting to the right of me. I was on the drivers side to the left of the son and I went flying out of the door over him, heh.
