Who cares if a rat is on board? And A cock roach? Come On.. set traps during the flight and get on with it..

They have to do that. If you'll remember, the Black Plague was started by rats being carried into Italy from Asia on board merchant ships. You never know what it might be carrying and what it might do to local ecology.

You could take the Australian rabbits as an example. Someone decided they liked to hunt rabbits, but Australia didn't have any, so he brought some with him. He set them free, and they proceeded to multiply like rabbits. They didn't have a natural predator, so they just kept multiplying. Tons of vegetation was disappearing due to all the rabbits. The Aussies finally had to pull a bio-war on them and gave mosquitos this poison that would only hurt the rabbits. The population was effectively cut down by the skeeters.

EDIT: And don't forget SARS...if I recall correctly, mice were a major carrier of it.

Now that is a very fair point Dr Bullet and I must admit those thoughts never occured to me...good post bro:)!!!!
