The banner could match the template alot better. Whats with the lines outside the left and right of the layout?

those gradients in content area wont work too good - if you stretch it, it will look dodgy.. go for a neutral solid color :) otherwise it looks good :)

Turn the gradients in the News/Content section so they are facing vertical and they will work fine. :)
